Walmart – Souvenir Heaven
And finally, if you're looking for the cheapest souvenirs in town, look no further than Walmart. Yes, that's right – even in Playa Del Carmen, you can't escape the lure of the big blue box. But hey, at least you'll have some extra pesos to spend on tacos and tequila!
MEGA - Souvenir Cloud
If MEGA is closer to you, feel free to check it out. Walmart is a bit of a labyrinth so you may save some time by checking out the more "local" supermarket. There is a more limited selection of souvenirs; though there is a fair selection of beachwear, clothing, toys and a great holiday section.
CHEDRAUI - the freezer
The central Chedraui is a mini version of MEGA and Walmart. Perhaps it provides a smaller selection but if you went inside and turned three times, you couldn't tell the difference. The real difference is likely the electricity bill they pay because it is sometimes so cold, you need to bring your winter gear.
DAC - a little harder on your wallet FRESH produce
If you are looking for more fresh produce, you are looking in the right place. Though items like milk and eggs are significantly more expensive than MEGA - just a minute away. DAC is a small grocery store which has most healthy options of meats, cheese, eggs but more importantly, fresh fruit and veggies.
