With lots of all-inclusive resorts, it can be hard to walk there without being stopped by a dozen hotel staff asking if you want to upgrade your room or buy a timeshare. Finally, we reach Colosio and Punta Esmeralda. This is the more local part of Playa Del Carmen, without many hotels, resorts, or beach clubs. You'll find mostly families and couples enjoying the sun and sand. It's a nice change of pace from the party scene at the other beaches, and you can finally hear yourself think without the thumping bass in the background.
